The families of Israelis taken hostage by Hamas made an emotional appeal for U.S. aid at a press conference held by House Republican leadership on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u2018He actually said, \u2018I want to say my last words. We\u2019re not going to survive it.\u2019 Nobody survived it. Everybody is killed,\u2019 said Doris Liber, whose son was kidnapped by Hamas militants at a music festival in southern Israel where more than 250 people were killed.<\/p>\n
As her son, Guy Iluz, was hiding, Liber said her husband encouraged him to hide under dead bodies so the terrorists would not notice him. She said he told her he had been shot in the arm.<\/p>\n
\u2018His father doesn\u2019t let him speak. He says, \u2018Shush, don\u2019t talk. Don\u2019t let them hear you.\u2019 And I try to, you know, tell him, \u2018Guy I love you. Don\u2019t worry. Nothing\u2019s going to happen. I\u2019m going to call now. I\u2019m going to send somebody now to get you.\u2019 And that\u2019s what I did. I hung up, and I regret that, since I didn\u2019t hear from him since,\u2019 Liber said.<\/p>\n
It has been 30 days since Hamas militants infiltrated Israel\u2019s borders on Oct. 7 and slaughtered roughly 1,400 Israelis \u2013 mostly civilians.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s been 30 days. Every day is like eternity to me. And I can\u2019t wait any longer because I know that he was shot. I know I don\u2019t know anything\u2026We don\u2019t have a list of the hostages. We don\u2019t know their condition,\u2019 Liber said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m so proud of being an American, being an Israeli as well. But I do need you now, because there\u2019s nothing helping me now. I pray, which I didn\u2019t do before. But just please help me.\u2019<\/p>\n
Yonatan Lulu-Shamriz, whose brother Alon Shamriz is also being held hostage, warned the U.S. would be \u2018next\u2019 if it did not take action to stamp out Hamas.<\/p>\n
\u2018This is a call for action. And this is a wake-up call \u2013 not only for Israel, not only for the Jewish community. This is a wake up of all the all of you here, all of America, all of Europe,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
\u2018You are next. And we should do everything that we can to stop this atrocity.\u2019<\/p>\n
