President Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as \u2018President Harris\u2019 during the White House\u2019s Stanley Cup celebration on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u2018President Harris is here to make sure we do this the right way,\u2019 Biden, 80, said in an apparent joke just moments after taking the stage to honor the Las Vegas Golden Knights, who won the Stanley Cup in June.<\/p>\n
The gaffe marks the latest instance in which Biden has mistakenly referred to Harris as the \u2018president,\u2019 which has happened on at least six prior occasions.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On one such occasion in Oct. 2022, Biden called Harris \u2018a great president\u2019 while wishing her a happy birthday during a White House event. \u2018Happy Birthday to a great president, we know your mom is always with you,\u2019 Biden said.<\/p>\n
He called her \u2018President Harris\u2019 \u00a0during remarks in South Carolina in December 2021, and did so at another event earlier that year in January. In March 2022, he also mistakenly called Harris the \u2018first lady\u2019 while talking to reporters.<\/p>\n
Biden, who turns 81 on Nov. 20, is the oldest person to ever serve as president. If elected to a second term, he would be 82 on inauguration day, and 86 upon leaving office.<\/p>\n
Harris, 59, has frequently defended Biden from concerns over his age, including from within their own party. Last month, she told \u201960 Minutes\u2019 that \u2018Joe Biden is very much alive and running for re-election.\u2019<\/p>\n\n
