Former President Trump joined Fox News\u2019 \u2018Hannity\u2019 on Tuesday night for a town hall discussion on the GOP presidential primary, President Biden, dictatorships, and more.<\/p>\n
Trump joined Hannity in Davenport, Iowa, for the town hall, one day before the fourth GOP presidential primary debate in Alabama on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Here are the top moments from Trump\u2019s \u2018Hannity\u2019 town hall on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
Trump predicted President Biden ultimately wouldn\u2019t be the Democrats\u2019 nominee for president in 2024.<\/p>\n
The topic arose when Sean Hannity asked Trump about the criticism facing Biden from his fellow Democrats, as well as noted that he seemed to be \u2018struggling cognitively.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I personally don\u2019t think he makes it, okay? I haven\u2019t said that. I\u2019m saving it for this big town hall. I\u2019ve never really said that. I personally don\u2019t think he makes it,\u2019 Trump answered, to cheers from the audience.<\/p>\n
\u2018I think he\u2019s in bad shape physically,\u2019 he added before joking about a previous instance in which Biden said he\u2019d like to take Trump to the \u2018back of the barn.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump joked that Biden would \u2018fall over\u2019 if he simply blew on him.<\/p>\n
\u2018I personally don\u2019t think he makes it physically. I watched him at the beach. He wasn\u2019t able to lift a beach chair, which is meant for children to lift. And mentally I would say he is possibly equally as bad, and maybe even worse,\u2019 Trump added.<\/p>\n
The former president turned some heads with some of his comments during the town hall, most notably with his comments to Hannity\u2019s question asking Trump to pledge to \u2018never abuse power as retribution against anybody.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Except for day one,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill.\u2019<\/p>\n
Hannity said \u2018that\u2019s not retribution,\u2019 with Trump quipping back, \u2018I love this guy, he says, \u2018you\u2019re not going to be a dictator are you?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018I said, \u2018No, no, no, other than day one,\u2019 Trump said.<\/p>\n
\u2018We\u2019re closing the border and we\u2019re drilling, drilling, drilling,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018After that, I\u2019m not a dictator.\u2019<\/p>\n
Hannity said that it sounded like what Trump was saying was that he would go back to his first-term policies, to which the former president agreed.<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s comments come after multiple media outlets claimed a second term for the former president would result in a \u2018dictatorship.\u2019<\/p>\n
Biden\u2019s campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez blasted Trump over the comments, saying in a release, \u2018Donald Trump has been telling us exactly what he will do if he\u2019s reelected and tonight he said he will be a dictator on day one.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Americans should believe him,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n
Trump mocked President Biden for his claim that he wouldn\u2019t be running for re-election if Trump wasn\u2019t in the race.<\/p>\n
\u2018Well, I think somebody gave him a talking point. They thought that would sound good,\u2019 Trump said as the crowd laughed.<\/p>\n
\u2018You know, I just found out that Democrats are funding Nikki Haley\u2019s campaign. I hear that Democrats are contributing to Ron DeSanctus\u2019, or Ron DeSanctimonious, to Ron DeSanctus\u2019 campaign. And then you hear the talking points. That\u2019s the only thing they\u2019re good at, cheating on elections and great talking points,\u2019 Trump added.<\/p>\n
Biden made the statement earlier in the day to a group of supporters at a Boston fundraiser, saying, \u2018If Trump wasn\u2019t running, I\u2019m not sure I\u2019d be running. But we\u00a0cannot let him win for the sake of the country.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump came out swinging in his town hall, but one of the biggest moments of the night was the former president calling his shot in the Hawkeye State.<\/p>\n
The former president declared to Fox News\u2019 Sean Hannity that he would \u2018win Iowa.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump touted the \u2018hundreds of billions of dollars in taxes and tariffs\u2019 from China and \u2018gave the farmers $28 billion.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018That\u2019s why I say I\u2019m going to win Iowa,\u2019 Trump said, eliciting cheers from the Hawkeye State crowd.<\/p>\n
\u2018My people say, \u2018Please sir, don\u2019t keep saying you\u2019re going to win Iowa, you sound so, really, horrible, crass\u2019 \u2014 someone said \u2018crass,\u201d Trump continued.<\/p>\n
\u2018I said, \u2018But it\u2019s true. We\u2019re going to win Iowa,\u201d the former president continued.<\/p>\n
Trump noted again that he \u2018gave the farmers $28 billion\u2019 and that he \u2018got it from China\u2019 during his administration.<\/p>\n
\u2018Who else could do that? Who else would be able to do it, number one, who else would think about it?\u2019 Trump asked, adding that he told farmers to \u2018buy more land\u2019 and \u2018bigger tractors.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s town hall began with him torching Biden over his criticism of his MAGA movement.<\/p>\n
\u2018You know, I see Biden talking about, \u2018Oh, MAGA! MAGA!\u2019 MAGA means Make America Great Again. That\u2019s what it means. And that\u2019s what people want,\u2019 Trump said to cheers from the crowd.<\/p>\n
\u2018They want to see our country be great again. Right now we\u2019re not a great country. We\u2019re a country in decline. We are a declining country,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
The Biden campaign has ramped up its criticism of Trump as polls consistently show him trailing the former president.<\/p>\n
He has frequently blasted the the MAGA movement as \u2018extremist,\u2019 and attempted to tie other conservative Republicans into that criticism.<\/p>\n\n
