Donald Trump Jr. said Monday he would go to \u2018great lengths\u2019 to prevent GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley from joining his father\u2019s campaign.<\/p>\n
Trump Jr. said during a Christmas Day interview that he views Haley as the \u2018preferred candidate\u2019 of the Washington establishment.<\/p>\n
\u2018I wouldn\u2019t have her on, and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn\u2019t happen,\u2019 Trump Jr. said on Newsmax\u2019s\u00a0\u2018The Balance.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Nikki Haley wants never-ending wars,\u2019 he continued. \u2018She\u2019s a puppet of the establishment in Washington D.C. She\u2019s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class, because they want control \u2014 no different than academia at Harvard and using, you know, their billions to exercising influence. They want someone they control. Ron DeSantis has proven that he doesn\u2019t have what it takes to be on that stage. He\u2019s embarrassed himself that way. She\u2019s now the preferred candidate.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump Jr. suggested Haley would try to sabotage Trump\u2019s campaign \u2018from within\u2019 if she was chosen as his running mate.<\/p>\n
\u2018No, I would not want Nikki Haley to be there,\u2019 he added. \u2018By the way, all you\u2019d get is her and team trying to destroy Donald Trump from within, forever. The second she ever got that, you know, anointment, it would be a disaster of epic proportions. So, I would hope that never is on the table, and I don\u2019t think it is.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump Jr.\u2019s comments came after Haley said she didn\u2019t want the former president in the White House again, arguing that he would only bring \u2018chaos\u2019 to the country.<\/p>\n
\u2018Our world is on fire,\u2019 she said during a recent post-debate interview. \u2018And you can\u2019t defeat Democrat chaos with Republican chaos, and Donald Trump brings us chaos. So it\u2019s not about being fit, it\u2019s just I don\u2019t think he\u2019s the right person to be president.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump\u2019s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, previously told Newsmax that she wouldn\u2019t rule out Trump choosing Haley as his running mate.<\/p>\n
\u2018Crazier things have happened,\u2019 she said. \u2018I don\u2019t know. I would never say never with Donald J. Trump. Never say never.\u2019<\/p>\n
