{"id":15354,"date":"2024-02-10T12:49:31","date_gmt":"2024-02-10T12:49:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/10\/biden-ghostwriter-escapes-special-counsel-charges-despite-deleting-evidence\/"},"modified":"2024-02-10T12:49:31","modified_gmt":"2024-02-10T12:49:31","slug":"biden-ghostwriter-escapes-special-counsel-charges-despite-deleting-evidence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/02\/10\/biden-ghostwriter-escapes-special-counsel-charges-despite-deleting-evidence\/","title":{"rendered":"Biden ghostwriter escapes special counsel charges despite deleting evidence"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"speakable\">President Biden\u2019s ghostwriter will not face charges despite deleting evidence of the sharing of classified material during the investigation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Mark Zwonitzer \u2014 who collaborated with Biden on his memoir \u2018Promise Me, Dad\u2019 \u2014 erased audio files in his possession that contained \u2018significant evidentiary value,\u2019 according to a report published by Special Counsel Robert Hur.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Zwonitzer admitted to the FBI that he \u2018was aware that there was an investigation\u2019 when he deleted the evidence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hur began investigating Biden\u2019s improper retention of classified records last year.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Those records included classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, among other records related to national security and foreign policy, which Hur said implicated \u2018sensitive intelligence sources and methods.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018When asked whether he deleted the recordings to try and prevent investigators from obtaining them, Zwonitzer said that he did not,\u2019 the report states.<\/p>\n<p>It added, \u2018Our investigation [\u2026] did not uncover any evidence that Zwonitzer had been in contact with anyone about his decision to delete the recordings.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Hur will not recommend criminal charges against Biden for mishandling classified documents, despite finding \u2018evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The materials included \u2018marked classified documents about military and foreign policy in Afghanistan, and notebooks containing Mr. Biden\u2019s handwritten entries about issues of national security and foreign policy implicating sensitive intelligence sources and methods.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hur said FBI agents recovered the materials from \u2018the garages, offices, and basement den in Mr. Biden\u2019s Wilmington, Delaware, home.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The special counsel described Biden as \u2018a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fox News Digital\u2019s Joe Schoffstall, Brooke Singman, David Spunt and Jake Gibson contributed to this report.<\/p>\n\n<div>This post appeared first on FOX NEWS<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>President Biden\u2019s ghostwriter will not face charges despite deleting evidence of the sharing of classified material during the investigation.
