He\u2019s gone\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div class=\"paywall has-gated-overlay gated-article-body\">\n<p class=\"speakable\">Former President Donald Trump mocked fellow Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley during a speech Saturday by asking why her husband hasn\u2019t been on the campaign trail \u2014 even though he is deployed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Michael Haley, who serves in the South Carolina Army National Guard, began his year-long deployment to Africa in June. He serves as a staff officer with the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was seemingly unaware of his deployment when he started questioning his whereabouts during a campaign stop in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The former president began his rant by calling Haley a \u2018birdbrain.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Birdbrain loves mass asylum,\u2019 Trump said, prompting laughter from the audience. \u2018There\u2019s nothing nice about her.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201dI will never run against President Trump. He\u2019s a great president, the greatest president in my lifetime,\u201d Trump quoted Haley as saying. \u2018She said, \u2018I will never run against him.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Then she comes over to see me at Mar-a-Lago\u2026\u2019Sir, I will never run against you.\u2019 She brought her husband.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Trump Organization founder then turned his attention to Haley\u2019s spouse.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Where\u2019s her husband?\u2019 Trump questioned. \u2018Where is he? He\u2019s gone.
