The interview is a tradition that began in 2009 with President Obama.<\/p>\n<p>The interview is generally seen as a way for the president to connect with a massive audience that doesn\u2019t usually tune into political conferences. Last year, the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles saw 115 million viewers.<\/p>\n<p>Carville, a long-time Democrat, gave his take on the situation while being interviewed on CNN on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s the biggest television audience, not even close, and you get a chance to do a 20-, 25-minute interview on that day,\u2019 Carville began.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And you don\u2019t do it? That\u2019s a kind of sign that the staff or yourself doesn\u2019t have much confidence in you,\u2019 Carville continued. \u2018There\u2019s no other way to read this.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Biden is not the first president to turn down the chance to speak to Super Bowl audiences. In 2018, President Trump declined to sit down with NBC for a Super Bowl interview.<\/p>\n<p>The consultant also opined about Biden\u2019s advanced age, days after the president held a press conference about his mental competence.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018And he\u2019s not going to do debates,\u2019 Carville said. \u2018He is old, I know what it is because I\u2019m almost as old as he is, and it\u2019s never going to get better.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Biden lashed out at reporters in a press conference after the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s report doubting the president\u2019s mental acuity.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m well-meaning, and I\u2019m an elderly man, and I know what the hell I\u2019m doing,\u2019 Biden said to a question asked by Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy. \u2018I\u2019ve been president and I put this country back on its feet. I don\u2019t need his recommendation.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018How bad is your memory? And can you continue as president?\u2019 Doocy asked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018My memory is so bad [that] I let you speak,\u2019 Biden fired back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fox News Digital\u2019s David Rutz and Joseph A.
