Hillary Clinton weighed in on concerns surrounding\u00a0President Biden\u2019s age, saying it\u2019s a \u2018legitimate issue.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I talked to people in the White House all the time, and you know, they know it\u2019s an issue, but as I like to say, \u2018look, it\u2019s a legitimate issue,\u2019\u2019 Clinton told MSNBC\u2019s Alex Wagner on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The former Democratic presidential nominee noted that it is also a \u2018legitimate issue\u2019 for former President Donald Trump in his campaign for the Republican nomination.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s a legitimate issue for Trump who\u2019s only three years younger, right?\u2019 Clinton said. \u2018So it\u2019s an issue.\u2019<\/p>\n

The former first lady continued, saying that she is for Biden because of his \u2018merits.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Once you say that, you need to also talk about what is at stake in this election,\u2019 Clinton continued. \u2018And I\u2019m for Joe Biden because of the merits.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I think he has done a really good job as president,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n

Clinton suggested that the president should focus more on the wisdom he has gained over the years and \u2018kid\u2019 about his age.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think Biden also should lean into the fact that he\u2019s experienced, and that experience is not just in the political arena,\u2019 she said. \u2018It\u2019s like, the stuff of, you know, human experience, character, wisdom.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think he should be willing to really pull that out \u2026 and I think he should kid more about it,\u2019 Clinton said.<\/p>\n

Hillary\u2019s comment came as former President Bill Clinton\u2019s lead strategist, James Carville, argued Saturday that the White House has little confidence in President Biden after he turned down a Super Bowl Sunday interview.<\/p>\n

Carville, a long-time Democrat, gave his take on the situation while being interviewed on CNN on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s the biggest television audience, not even close, and you get a chance to do a 20-25-minute interview on that day,\u2019 Carville began.<\/p>\n

\u2018And you don\u2019t do it? That\u2019s a kind of sign that the staff or yourself doesn\u2019t have much confidence in you,\u2019 Carville continued. \u2018There\u2019s no other way to read this.\u2019<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, former Bill Clinton strategist and CNN political commentator Paul Begala admitted that Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s indictment of President Biden\u2019s memory and Biden\u2019s response was \u2018terrible for Democrats.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Oh yeah. Look, I\u2019m a Biden supporter, and I slept like a baby last night: I woke up every two hours crying and wet the bed,\u2019 Begala quipped on CNN last Friday.<\/p>\n

\u2018This is terrible for Democrats. And anybody with a functioning brain knows that,\u2019 he declared.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The top democratic strategists\u2019 comments came after Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s report revealed that Biden willfully retained classified U.S. documents as a private citizen.<\/p>\n

The report recommenced no charges against the 46th president over his actions, partly because he would have a defense at trial as a \u2018sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u2019<\/p>\n
