Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is unveiling his endorsement criteria for other political hopefuls he dubs \u2018The American Truth Pledge.\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking with Fox News Digital, Ramaswamy said he has received \u2018a flood of inbound requests for endorsements\u2019 after he suspended his 2024 campaign last month and threw his support behind former President Trump. But in order for them to earn his endorsement, they must share \u2018some basic ideals\u2019 that were major themes of his presidential bid in putting \u2018America First.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t want to be making these decisions in a one-off manner,\u2019 Ramaswamy said in an interview. \u2018I want to be making them in a systematic manner to say that if somebody gets endorsement, for me, it means that we are jointly endorsing some basic ideals that we stand behind.\u2019<\/p>\n

The \u2018American Truth Pledge\u2019 has four broad categories. The first reads \u2018The people we elect to run government should actually run the government,\u2019 the second being \u2018The first and only moral duty of US leaders is to US citizens,\u2019 the third being \u2018Public service is about serving the public, not oneself,\u2019 and the final one reading \u2018The absence of national pride is an existential threat to our nation\u2019s future \u2014 we must fill that void.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Within the categories are bullet points of things Ramaswamy campaigned on like reducing the size of the federal government by 75% and backing a requirement for high school seniors to pass a civics test in order for them to vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018If people are on board with the planks of a lot of the vision of what I shared across my campaign for president, that\u2019s going to be the basis for the endorsements that I make,\u2019 Ramaswamy said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He continued, \u2018And so when I do endorse people in races across this country, large and small, that way people across this country can know what that means. It\u2019s not just that I have a pal or a friend who I think is a good guy or gal. It means that we stand for a shared set of ideals, by the way, which happened to be the ideals that this country was founded on in 1776.\u2019<\/p>\n

The biotech entrepreneur defied expectations when he first joined the race in February 2023 with virtually zero name recognition, outlasting big name Republicans like South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ramaswamy suspended his campaign following a disappointing performance at the Iowa caucus and quickly endorsed the GOP frontrunner.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During a campaign rally last month, Trump teased a potential role for Ramaswamy on his team.<\/p>\n

\u2018He\u2019s going to be working with us and he\u2019ll be working with us for a long time,\u2019 Trump told his supporters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
