A luxury watch dealer CEO came out the big winner at Philadephia\u2019s Sneaker Con Saturday, taking home a pair of golden sneakers signed by former President Trump.<\/p>\n

Roman Sharf, Founder and CEO of Luxury Bazaar, a luxury watch dealer, won the pair of \u2018Never Surrender high tops\u2019 after placing a bid of $9,000 at the convention, also known as \u2018The Greatest Sneaker Show On Earth,\u2019 according to the organizer\u2019s website. Reports have indicated that Sharf is Russian, but the CEO told Fox News Digital he is Ukrainian.<\/p>\n

\u2018Of course I\u2019ve got something to say \u2014 Trump 2024,\u2019 Sharf said in the video.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sharf later posted on X, formerly Twitter, that he would be passing the sneakers down to his kids but would be displaying them in his office for the time being.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018I wasn\u2019t trying to make a political statement by buying these shoes. Of course, the internet blew up,\u2019 Sharf said in a video posted to his socials on Monday following online reactions to his winning bid.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018You know, what saddens me the most about this whole situation is that over something as stupid as a pair of sneakers, it shows so clearly, once again, on just how divided our country is,\u2019 Sharf said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trump took to the stage in Philadelphia over the weekend, receiving mixed and emotional reactions from those in attendance. The former president spoke for approximately 10 minutes, standing alongside a pair of limited-supply gold, custom Trump-branded sneakers sold for $399 a pair.<\/p>\n

\u2018A lot of emotion. There\u2019s a lot of emotion in this room,\u2019 Trump said after taking the podium. \u2018They have lines going all around the block. They\u2019ve never seen anything like this one.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I just want to tell you, you know, I\u2019ve wanted to do this for a long time. I have some incredible people that work with me on things, and they came up with this,\u2019 he said. \u2018This is something I\u2019ve been talking about for 12 years, 13 years, and I think it\u2019s going to be a big success.\u2019<\/p>\n

Sneaker Con previously faced backlash from Trump critics for allowing the former president a venue to offer remarks. The organizers eventually took to social media to share a statement in response.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sneaker Con\u2019s mission is to support and promote sneaker culture through our worldwide live events and digital platforms.\u2028We are thankful and appreciative of the sneaker community, and recognize individuals who generate awareness and authentic sneaker related engagement towards our community,\u2019 the statement read.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Biden campaign reacted to Trump\u2019s appearance at the event, with Biden-Harris 2024 communications director Michael Tyler saying in a statement, \u2018Donald Trump showing up to hawk bootleg Off-Whites is the closest he\u2019ll get to any Air Force Ones ever again for the rest of his life.\u2019<\/p>\n
