First, Biden invoked Trump related to Russia\u2019s war with Ukraine.<\/p>\n
\u2018My predecessor, a former Republican president, tells Putin, \u2018Do whatever the hell you want,\u201d\u00a0Biden said.\u00a0\u2018A former American president actually said that,\u00a0bowing down\u00a0to a Russian leader.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018My message\u00a0to President Putin\u00a0is simple,\u2019 Biden said, as he urged for more U.S. funding for Ukraine. \u2018We will not walk away.\u00a0We\u00a0will not bow down.\u00a0I\u00a0will not bow down.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
Next, Biden invoked Trump related to Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n
\u2018My predecessor and some of you here seek to\u00a0bury\u00a0the truth of January 6th,\u2019\u00a0he said. \u2018I will not do that. This is a moment\u00a0to\u00a0speak\u00a0the truth\u00a0and\u00a0bury\u00a0the lies.\u2019<\/p>\n
He added: \u2018And here\u2019s the simplest truth. You\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0love your country\u00a0only\u00a0when you win.\u2019<\/p>\n
Biden went on to demand lawmakers and Americans \u2018join together and defend our democracy.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018Remember your oath of office to defend against all threats foreign and domestic,\u2019 he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Biden, in a swipe at Trump, added: \u2018Respect free and fair elections; restore trust in our institutions; and make clear that political violence has absolutely no place in America.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
Then, Biden invoked Trump related to Roe v. Wade and female reproductive rights, claiming that Trump claims victory over the Supreme Court\u2019s decision to overturn the landmark abortion law.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018Many of you in this chamber\u00a0and\u00a0my predecessor\u00a0are promising to pass\u00a0a\u00a0national ban\u00a0on reproductive freedom,\u2019 Biden said.\u00a0\u2018My God,\u00a0what freedoms will you\u00a0take\u00a0away\u00a0next?\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
He also mentioned \u2018his predecessor\u2019 related to mental health, made claims that Trump \u2018failed to buy American\u2019 and more.<\/p>\n
Later, on immigration, Biden pointed to the border bill that Republicans have opposed in recent weeks.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m told my predecessor called Republicans in the Senate and demanded they block the bill. He feels it would be a political win for me and a political loser for him,\u2019 Biden said. \u2018It\u2019s not about him or me.\u00a0 It\u2019d be a winner for America!\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
Biden then gave a direct message to Trump: \u2018If my predecessor is watching instead of playing politics and pressuring members of Congress to block this bill,\u00a0join me in telling Congress to pass it!\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018We can do it together,\u2019 Biden said, but then said he \u2018will not demonize immigrants and say they \u2018poison the blood of our country.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018I will\u00a0not\u00a0separate families. I will\u00a0not\u00a0ban\u00a0people from America because of their faith,\u2019 Biden said, in an apparent swipe at Trump immigration policies.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018Unlike my predecessor, on my first day in office I introduced a comprehensive plan to fix our immigration system, secure the border, and provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers\u00a0and so much more,\u2019 Biden said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
But Trump and Republicans have touted border security during the last administration as the safest in U.S. history.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Biden also invoked Trump on the issue of guns in America and on China.\u00a0<\/p>\n
