{"id":16744,"date":"2024-03-09T12:48:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-09T12:48:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/09\/pompeo-doesnt-rule-out-serving-in-second-trump-admin-doesnt-comment-on-jobs-ive-not-been-offered\/"},"modified":"2024-03-09T12:48:55","modified_gmt":"2024-03-09T12:48:55","slug":"pompeo-doesnt-rule-out-serving-in-second-trump-admin-doesnt-comment-on-jobs-ive-not-been-offered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/09\/pompeo-doesnt-rule-out-serving-in-second-trump-admin-doesnt-comment-on-jobs-ive-not-been-offered\/","title":{"rendered":"Pompeo doesn\u2019t rule out serving in second Trump admin; doesn\u2019t comment on jobs \u2018I\u2019ve not been offered\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"paywall has-gated-overlay gated-article-body\">\n<p class=\"speakable\">Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has not ruled out a chance to serve under former President Donald Trump for a second time should he become the Republican presidential nominee and come out victorious in November.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Pompeo served as Trump\u2019s director of the CIA and secretary of state during his first term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, he was asked about serving under Trump for a second time during a Friday appearance on \u2018Your World with Neil Cavuto.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I don\u2019t often comment on jobs I\u2019ve not been offered,\u2019 he said. \u2018If I get a chance to serve and think that I can make a difference, I\u2019m almost I\u2019m almost certainly going to say yes to that opportunity to try and deliver on behalf of the American people,\u2019 he told Cavuto.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cavuto noted that Trump in the past has demanded strict loyalty from those working under him.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m confident President Trump will be looking for people who will faithfully execute what it is he asked them to do,\u2019 Pompeo replied. \u2018I think as a president, you should always want that from everyone.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I must say, as secretary of state, I certainly wanted my team to do what I was asking them to do, and was enormously frustrated when I found that I couldn\u2019t get them to do that,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Trump\u2019s most ardent supporters when he came into office have turned against him in recent years. Former Vice President Mike Pence drew Trump\u2019s ire when he refused to abide by Trump\u2019s wishes that he reject the certification of some electoral votes during a joint session of Congress held on Jan. 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, he briefly mounted an unsuccessful campaign against Trump to win the Republican presidential nomination.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Former national security adviser John Bolton called Trump \u2018unfit\u2019 to be president in a new memoir.
