Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., is asking President Biden and his administration to clarify their stance on Hamas, following Biden\u2019s State of the Union address.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">In a conversation with NBC\u2019s Kristen Welker on \u2018Meet the Press\u2019 that aired Sunday, Graham pointed to a line in the speech when Biden said about Hamas, \u2018If you release the hostages, the war will be over.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I literally about fell out of my seat,\u2019 Graham said. \u2018Is the president saying that if the hostages are released by Hamas, they can stay in power? That ends the conflict?\u2019 Graham noted that former President Trump, who will likely be Biden\u2019s opponent in November\u2019s election, \u2018believes it\u2019s non-negotiable when it comes to Hamas: they have to be destroyed militarily, they can\u2019t be in charge.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m challenging the Biden administration today to clear this up,\u2019 Graham said. \u2018You cannot allow Hamas to stay in power. You can\u2019t allow them to have six brigades to do October 7th again.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Welker said Biden has stated in the past that he stands behind this position as well.<\/p>\n<p>Graham also criticized Biden for \u2018missing the boat\u2019 by focusing on what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be doing, and not Hamas or their backer Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Israel is not killing American soldiers,\u2019 Graham said. \u2018Iran is through their proxies. So I would urge President Biden to hold the Great Satan, Iran, accountable for killing soldiers in Jordan and attacking shipping. So yeah, I think he\u2019s got it backwards.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Graham says the United States should be \u2018all in and helping Israel\u2019 while not saying or doing anything that would \u2019empower our enemy.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>President Biden on Saturday said the U.S. does not have a \u2018red line\u2019 with Israel over its actions in the war with Hamas that would leave the Middle Eastern country unprotected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I am never going to leave Israel,\u2019 the president told MSNBC\u2019s Jonathan Capehart in a wide-ranging interview. \u2018The defense of Israel is still critical.
