{"id":16864,"date":"2024-03-12T12:47:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-12T12:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/12\/andrew-tate-detained-in-romania-over-uk-sex-offense-charges\/"},"modified":"2024-03-12T12:47:00","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T12:47:00","slug":"andrew-tate-detained-in-romania-over-uk-sex-offense-charges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shareperformanceinsight.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/12\/andrew-tate-detained-in-romania-over-uk-sex-offense-charges\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrew Tate detained in Romania over UK sex offense charges"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            Controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in Romania on Monday over UK sex offense charges,  Romanian police said on Tuesday.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            Officers from the country\u2019s Criminal Investigation Service and officers from the town of Voluntari \u201cexecuted two European arrest warrants issued by the UK judicial authorities for the commission of sexual offences and exploitation of persons on the territory of Great Britain,\u201d police said in a statement.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            The two men were presented to the public prosecutor of the Bucharest Court of Appeal, who ordered their detention for 24 hours in the Bucharest Police Headquarters, the statement added.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            Tate\u2019s spokesperson Mateea Petrescu said in a statement Tuesday: \u201cThis bewildering revival of decade-old accusations has left the Tate brothers dismayed and deeply troubled.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            \u201cThey categorically reject all charges and express profound disappointment that such serious allegations are being resurrected without substantial new evidence,\u201d Petrescu said.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            Tate and his brother spent three months in police custody in Bucharest last year and were then placed under house arrest pending a criminal investigation for\u00a0alleged\u00a0abuses committed against seven women, accusations they have denied.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            They were released in August and put under judicial control, with a ban on leaving the Municipality of Bucharest and Ilfov county without prior approval from the court.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">            The two are awaiting trial in the country on separate charges of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal group to sexually exploit women.    <\/p>\n\n<div>This post appeared first on cnn.com<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Controversial internet influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been detained in Romania on Monday over UK sex offense charges, Romanian police said on Tuesday.
