President Biden\u2019s 2024 campaign has employed a new strategy, one taken right out of former President Donald Trump\u2019s playbook: name-calling.<\/p>\n

Trump, during his 2016 primary campaign, referred to top Republican primary opponents as \u2018Lyin\u2019 Ted\u2019 Cruz and \u2018Little Marco\u2019 Rubio. He took jabs at Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren as \u2018Pocahontas\u2019 and Sen. Majority Leader \u2018Cryin\u201d Chuck Schumer and Speaker of the House \u2018Crazy Nancy\u2019 Pelosi.<\/p>\n

He called his 2016 presidential opponent \u2018Crooked Hillary\u2019 and then, in 2020, called Biden, \u2018Crazy Joe.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Biden camp distributed an email this week calling the president\u2019s opponent \u2018Broke Don\u2019 \u2013 a reference to Trump\u2019s financial troubles. The 45th president recently failed to secure an appeal bond to delay payment of the $464 million he owes, due to AG Letitia James\u2019 civil investigation of The Trump Organization.<\/p>\n

\u2018Trump can\u2019t raise money, isn\u2019t campaigning, and is letting convicts and conspiracy theorists run his campaign,\u2019 the email claims.<\/p>\n

Trump has mocked Biden for years, saying the 46th president allegedly was avoiding the press and \u2018hiding\u2019 in his Wilmington, Del. basement during the 2020 race \u2013 which the email appears to reference.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We have a guy that doesn\u2019t come out of his basement,\u2019 Trump said during a \u2018FOX & Friends\u2019 appearance in 2020. \u2018Somebody like Biden, he doesn\u2019t know what to do.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018He doesn\u2019t come out because he can\u2019t. He doesn\u2019t take any questions from reporters\u2026 This guy doesn\u2019t come out of his basement, and he hasn\u2019t taken one question.\u2019<\/p>\n

Election filings that were publicized on Wednesday showed that Trump raised $20 million for his campaign in February, while Biden\u2019s campaign raised $53 million. Going into March, Trump\u2019s camp had $41.9 million in hand, while Biden\u2019s had $155 million.<\/p>\n

Reuters correspondent Nandita Bose tweeted a screenshot of the Biden campaign\u2019s email titled \u2018Not a Winning Campaign: Broke Don Hides in Basement\u2019 on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Political strategist Ashley Hayek criticized the Biden campaign\u2019s name-calling email while speaking with Fox News Digital on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u2018Crooked Joe\u2019s campaign just can\u2019t keep up,\u2019 Hayek said. \u2018Not only does he fail at mocking Teflon Don, he highlights his own department\u2019s illegal seizure of the Trump empire, reminding Americans of the alarming overreach by his administration.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Gallup polling shows that 66% of Americans view the DOJ negatively, [which is] purely a reflection of his failure of leadership,\u2019 she added. \u2018Biden would be better off running from the basement again.\u2019<\/p>\n

Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung lambasted the Biden campaign email in a statement to Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

\u2018If Crooked Joe\u2019s broken brain campaign thinks it can play this game better than we can, they are in for a rude awakening,\u2019 Cheung wrote. \u2018They have a cognitively impaired freakshow candidate who literally embarrasses himself every time he opens his mouth or shuffles his feet, only to fall on his ass for the world to see.\u2019<\/p>\n

Fox News Digital reached out to the Biden campaign for comment.<\/p>\n
