More than 50 people were arrested Tuesday after the Senate cafeteria was shut down by anti-Israel protesters chanting \u2018Senate can\u2019t eat until Gaza eats!\u2019<\/p>\n
The U.S. Capitol Police confirmed to Fox News that those arrested inside the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C., were charged with Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.<\/p>\n
\u2018It is illegal to demonstrate inside any of the Congressional Buildings,\u2019 Capitol Police said in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A video obtained by Fox News shows demonstrators walking through the hallways of the building, raising their hands and saying, \u2018Children are starving in Gaza\u2019 and \u2018People are dying in Gaza.\u2019<\/p>\n
One woman was wearing a shirt that read, \u2018Biden\u2019s legacy = Genocide.\u2019<\/p>\n
President Biden has come under pressure over the growing civilian death toll from the Israel-Hamas war, which began on Oct. 7 last year when the Gaza-based terrorist group launched a surprise attack on Israel.<\/p>\n
A source told Fox News that Capitol Police at one point shouted, \u2018Everybody out or be placed under arrest,\u2019 to which a protester replied, \u2018This is the house of the people!\u2019<\/p>\n
Some of the demonstrators appeared to be the same individuals who interrupted testimony by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing this morning.<\/p>\n
In March, more than a dozen pro-Palestinian demonstrators were arrested at the Russell Senate Office Building.<\/p>\n
The pro-Palestinian demonstrators were heard repeatedly chanting, \u2018We call for a permanent cease-fire,\u2019 in the rotunda of the government building, which is connected to the U.S. Capitol.<\/p>\n
In February, the U.S. Capitol Police arrested numerous pro-Palestinian demonstrators who staged a die-in alongside a banner with the message \u2018cease-fire now\u2019 inside the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building.<\/p>\n
