Lawmakers reacted after Iran launched drones from its own territory toward Israel late Saturday, calling for the White House to \u2018stand firm\u2019 and \u2018stop coddling Iran.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

Speaker Mike Johnson pledged America\u2019s \u2018full resolve\u2019 to stand with Israel.<\/p>\n

\u2018As Israel faces this vicious attack from Iran, America must show our full resolve to stand with our critical ally,\u2019 Johnson said in a statement. \u2018The world must be assured: Israel is not alone.\u2019<\/p>\n

Johnson promised to \u2018insist upon a proper response\u2019 from the White House.<\/p>\n

\u2018I will continue to engage with the White House to insist upon a proper response,\u2019 he said. \u2018The Biden Administration\u2019s undermining of Israel and appeasement of Iran have contributed to these terrible developments.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Now more than ever, we must stand with Israel,\u2019 former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., wrote in an X post.<\/p>\n

Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., the highest-ranking Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said that the U.S. commitment to Israel is \u2018unwavering.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018This is the moment for the United States to show we stand together with our allies. Our shared enemies, including Iran and their proxies, need to know our commitment is unwavering,\u2019 he said in a press release. \u2018We must join with Israel to ensure that Iran\u2019s aggression is met with resolute action and resounding strength.\u2019<\/p>\n

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, condemned the Iran attack on Israel, while placing the blame on the Biden administration.<\/p>\n

\u2018Iran has encircled Israel and has been attacking our Israeli allies from almost every front for months. They have launched attacks from Syria, Iraq, Yemen, the West Bank, Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, and of course the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. Now they have escalated by launching attacks directly from Iranian territory,\u2019 Cruz said in a statement. \u2018These attacks are enabled and financed by deliberate policy choices made by Joe Biden and Biden officials, who have allowed roughly $100 billion to flow to Iran since 2021. Americans and Israelis have been made catastrophically more vulnerable by these policies.\u2019<\/p>\n

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said that President Biden must \u2018stand firm\u2019 with Israel and \u2018stop coddling\u2019 Iran.<\/p>\n

\u2018Iran\u2019s drone strikes show us President Biden\u2019s approach with Iran and the Middle East is backwards,\u2019 she wrote in an X post. \u2018Now as we risk entering WWIII, the U.S. must stand by Israel\u2019s commitment to democracy. The president must stand firm, and stop coddling Iran immediately.\u2019<\/p>\n

Representative Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., said that the Iranian regime\u2019s \u2018consistent\u2019 use of proxies \u2018warrants\u2019 immediate U.S. action.<\/p>\n

\u2018Enough is enough-the Biden administration must take concrete steps to support Israel, our closest ally,\u2019 Lawler said in a press release. \u2018This is a direct Iranian attack, after the regime has consistently used it proxies, warrants immediate U.S. action to back any Israeli response.\u2019<\/p>\n

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem wrote that she \u2018expects\u2019 the Biden administration to \u2018hold Iran accountable.\u2019<\/p>\n

WHITE HOUSE VOWS SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL AMID IRAN ATTACK, BRACES FOR HOURS-LONG ON-SLAUGHT<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\u2018We stand with the people of Israel against this brazen and callous attack,\u2019 Noem wrote in an X post. \u2018Iran hates democracy, freedom, and basic human rights \u2014 making them an enemy of Israel and the United States.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018I expect the Biden Administration to stand up for these shared principles and hold Iran accountable,\u2019 she wrote.<\/p>\n

Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., wrote that the attacks against Israel were a \u2018direct result\u2019 of Biden\u2019s \u2018lack of leadership.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Iran just launched drone strikes on innocent Israeli civilians. This is a direct result of Joe Biden\u2019s lack of leadership,\u2019 Mast wrote in an X post. \u2018The White House should be standing resolutely with Israel. Instead, they\u2019ve spent months kissing up to the terrorist regime in Tehran to appease a few loud, far-left, and anti-American lawmakers in Congress.\u2019<\/p>\n

On Friday, Biden was asked how imminent a potential attack on Israel is from Tehran following an Israeli strike on Iran\u2019s Damascus consulate in Syria.<\/p>\n

\u2018I don\u2019t want to get into secure information, but my expectation [is] sooner than later,\u2019 he replied.<\/p>\n

\u2018We are devoted to the defense of Israel,\u2019 he added. \u2018We will support Israel. We will defend, help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed.\u2019<\/p>\n

When asked what his message to Tehran was, Biden simply said: \u2018Don\u2019t.\u2019 When he was asked to elaborate, he walked away.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-M.D., echoed Biden\u2019s statement Friday, saying that Israel has America\u2019s \u2018full support.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Last week, President Biden sent a definitive message to Iran about this pending attack: \u2018don\u2019t.\u2019 I reiterate what Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin made clear to Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant just last week \u2013 Israel has America\u2019s full support in defending against Iranian aggression,\u2019 Hoyer wrote in a press release.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We stand by our ally as it exercises its absolute right to defend itself,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

U.S. officials have reaffirmed their country\u2019s \u2018ironclad\u2019 support for Israel while calling for a deescalation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We are devoted to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed,\u2019 Biden said on Friday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pentagon and State Department have expressed similar positions.<\/p>\n\n
