What has Israel said about the strike?<\/h3>\n<p>Israel and its government have been notably quiet leading up to and following the retaliatory strike on Iran.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Israel will do whatever it needs to defend itself,\u2019 Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement before the Israeli strike. \u2018[Foreign leaders] have all sorts of suggestions and advice. I appreciate that. But I want to be clear: Our decisions we will make ourselves.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Former Israel Defense Forces spokesman Jonathan Conricus wrote on X following the strike that while Iran appears to downplay the strike, he \u2018think[s] they\u2019ve gotten the message.\u2019<\/p>\n<h3>5.
