Ocasio-Cortez pushed to have Greene\u2019s words \u2018taken down,\u2019 which is a procedure to give a speaker the chance to withdraw their words or amend them if they are deemed out of order.\u00a0<\/p>\n
House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-KY, ruled that the comments did not violate House rules against engaging in \u2018personalities\u2019 during debate.<\/p>\n
The hearing led to a 24-20 vote along party lines to recommend holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt.<\/p>\n
