Former President Trump fired up supporters at the National Rifle Association\u2019s Annual Meeting in Texas on Saturday, calling for President Biden to take a \u2018drug test,\u2019 putting \u2018radical\u2019 Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on blast and encouraging gun enthusiasts to get out and vote.<\/p>\n
The crowd at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas roared as Trump received the NRA\u2019s endorsement before he took the stage.<\/p>\n
Trump thanked the \u2018great patriots\u2019 for the endorsements, but reprimanded the \u2018rebellious bunch\u2019 for not voting.<\/p>\n
\u2018But one thing I\u2019ll say, and I say it as friends, we\u2019ve got to get gun owners to vote because you know what? I don\u2019t know what it is. Perhaps it\u2019s a form of rebellion because you\u2019re a rebellious people, aren\u2019t you?,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018But gun owners don\u2019t vote. What is that all about?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018If gun owners would vote, we would swamp them at levels that nobody\u2019s ever seen before,\u2019 he said. \u2018So, I think you\u2019re a rebellious bunch. So let\u2019s be rebellious and vote this time.\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump turned his attention to Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., telling NRA-supporters to not \u2018waste your vote\u2019 and that he is a part of the \u2018radical left.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018RFK, Jr. \u2014 I call him Junior by the way \u2014 he\u2019s radical left. Don\u2019t think about it. Don\u2019t waste your vote,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018We need a conservative person with common sense. This guy is radical left who destroyed New York.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018Actually, he\u2019s a disaster. He reminds you of this fly that\u2019s driving me crazy up here,\u2019 said Trump, who swatted at a fly that flitted around the stage. \u2018This fly is brutal. I don\u2019t like flies!\u2019<\/p>\n
Trump said that RFK Jr. had \u2018no policy for anything.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018But RFK Jr. calls you a terrorist group. You know, he calls you a terrorist group,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018[You] can\u2019t vote for him. You can\u2019t. You know, somebody said, well, they like his policy on vaccines the other day. He said, no, no, he\u2019ll go for the vaccine. He\u2019s nice. He\u2019s got no policy or anything. He\u2019s radical left. He always has been.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018We can\u2019t waste any votes,\u2019 he added. \u2018We have to make sure we win.\u2019<\/p>\n
The Republican Party\u2019s presumptive presidential nominee set his sights on President Biden, beginning with the usual jabs at Biden\u2019s cognitive ability, and saying that Biden was as \u2018high as a kite\u2019 during his State of the Union address in March.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2018Now, he did that State of the Union the other day. He was high as a kite,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018So, I think we should go for drug tests on the debate. Yeah, we\u2019re going to call for drug tests.\u2019<\/p>\n
Earlier Saturday, Trump\u2019s campaign and the Republican National Committee announced the creation of a new \u2018Gun Owners for Trump\u2019 coalition that includes gun rights activists and individuals in the firearms\u2019 industry.<\/p>\n\n
