Apparently, on the previous flight someone had vomited in that area. Air Canada attempted a quick cleanup before boarding but clearly wasn\u2019t able to do a thorough clean,\u201d Benson wrote in a Facebook post published August 29.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cThey placed coffee grinds in the seat pouch and sprayed perfume to mask the smell. When the clearly upset passengers tried to explain to the flight attendant that the seat and seatbelt were wet and there was still visible vomit residue in their area, the flight attendant was very apologetic but explained that the flight was full and there was nothing they could do,\u201d she added.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"related-content_without-image related-content_without-image--article\">\n<p class=\"related-content_without-image__headline\">            <span class=\"related-content_without-image__headline-text\">Air Canada launches North America\u2019s only nonstop flight to Bangkok <\/span>    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      The passengers and crew \u201cargued back-and-forth for several minutes,\u201d wrote Benson, before a supervisor came over and reiterated that the passengers would have to stay in the vomit-covered seats as the flight was full.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      Benson goes on to relate how a pilot then came down the plane to speak to the passengers, telling them that<strong> <\/strong>\u201cthey could leave the plane\u2026 and organize flights on their own dime, or they would be escorted off the plane by security and placed on a no fly list!\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      The explanation was that they had been \u201crude\u201d to the flight attendant, but Benson disputes this.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cThey were certainly not! They were upset and firm, but not rude!\u201d she wrote.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      Even though a fellow passenger tried to explain the situation, the pair were then escorted from the plane by security.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"related-content_without-image related-content_without-image--article\">\n<p class=\"related-content_without-image__headline\">            <span class=\"related-content_without-image__headline-text\">US officials propose $25 million fine against Air Canada over airfare refunds<\/span>    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cFor what? Refusing to sit in vomit for five hours!,\u201d wrote Benson, who said the airline \u201cliterally expects\u201d its passengers \u201cto sit in vomit or be escorted off the plane and placed on a no-fly list!\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      She then conceded that she didn\u2019t know whether the passengers were in fact placed on a no-fly list.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cI am ashamed to be a Canadian and ashamed of Air Canada,\u201d she wrote. \u201cShame on you Air Canada! shame on you!\u201d  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cWe are reviewing this serious matter internally and have followed up with the customers directly as our operating procedures were not followed correctly in this instance,\u201d the statement continued.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      \u201cWe remain in contact with them about this matter,\u201d the airline added.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      This is not the first incident involving bodily fluids on planes in recent months.   <\/p>\n<div class=\"related-content_without-image related-content_without-image--article\">\n<p class=\"related-content_without-image__headline\">            <span class=\"related-content_without-image__headline-text\">Airline loses passenger\u2019s dog at world\u2019s busiest airport<\/span>    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      In June, Habib Battah was flying from Paris to Toronto on Air France when, shortly after takeoff, he noticed a strange smell coming from the footwell under his and his wife\u2019s seats.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      Battah then noticed a wet stain on the floor. Staff provided him with cleaning wipes, and as he used them to rub at the stain, they kept turning red.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      A flight attendant informed her coworkers, and the captain radioed Paris, asking what the stain under seats 30A and 30B was.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder\">      The news came back from Air France HQ: It was human blood.
